Troops from the Vostok-2022 exercises will return until the end of September

Troops from the strategic command and staff exercises “Vostok-2022” will return to the places of permanent deployment until the end of September, said Deputy defense Minister Alexander Fomin during a briefing for foreign military attaches.

Exercise “East” will be held from 1 to 7 September, under the leadership of chief of the General staff of the armed forces on the territory of the Eastern military district will be the final stage of preparation of the armed forces this year.

“The return of the military authorities and troops in permanent bases after participating in the teaching of planned until the end of September,” said Fomin.

The coalition of the forces on the joint actions in the framework of the strategic exercises will work the operational group of controls, troops and observers of the CSTO, the SCO and other partner countries, including Azerbaijan, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Laos, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Syria, Tajikistan.

From the armed forces in the “East” will be attended by military authorities and the troops of the Eastern military district, part of the airborne forces, long-range and military transport aviation. In addition, in the “East” will take part of the operational management group from the MVD, FSB and FSO of Russia.

The exercise will involve more than 50,000 troops, more than 5000 pieces of weapons and military equipment, including 140 aircraft, and 60 combat ships, boats and support vessels.
