All ships of the first line of the Indian Navy will be armed with Brahmos missiles

All the ships of the first line of the Indian Navy will be equipped with the supersonic cruise missile BrahMos, said in an interview with RIA Novosti Director of the company BrahMos from the Russian side, Alexander Maksichev.

The first line are the most combat-ready and well-armed ships of large displacement class cruiser, a destroyer, a frigate.

“Ships of the first and second lines, Yes, will be armed. The challenge was to arm (missiles “BrahMos” – ed.), all the ships of the first line, this task is performed successfully,” said Maksichev.

BrahMos Aerospace is a joint Indian-Russian venture company, produces supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft or ground-based platforms. The company was established in 1998 and named in honor of the rivers Brahmaputra and Moskva. The Russian side in the joint venture is “NPO Mashinostroyenia”.
