Media: the patrol of the Iraqi army was blown up by explosives

Patrol the Iraqi army was blown up by an explosive device in Diyala province in Eastern Iraq, as a result, one soldier was killed and two were injured, the Agency Shafaq citing a source in the security of the province.

“One soldier was killed and two others injured in the explosion of a military patrol on the explosive device in the area of al-Bagat between counties Bohras and Kanaan 20 kilometres South-West of the (city) of Baquba,” said the source.

In late 2017, the Iraqi government has declared victory over the terrorist group “Islamic state”* in the country, however, the Iraqi army, backed by units of the people’s militia continued to sweep from fighters and operations to identify dormant cells of terrorist groups in some areas.
