Moscow will help the Ministry of Defense in registering foreigners for military service

In the Moscow migration center “Sakharovo” will appear infrastructure assistance to the Ministry of defence in the matter of admission to the military service of citizens of other countries, said in a personal blog, the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin.

He recalled that today the State Duma adopted in the second and third reading the amendments to the law about the simplified obtaining the Russian citizenship. In particular, we are talking about foreigners who have concluded the contract on service in the Russian army. Under current law, to obtain citizenship, they need to serve at least three years, however, the amendments provide for a shorter period of up to one year.

Sobyanin noted that operates in the capital, migration centre “Sakharovo”, dealing with the issues of employment of immigrants.

“In the near future, the Moscow government will deploy “Sakharovo” full promotion infrastructure of the Russian defense Ministry in organizing the recruitment of foreign citizens”, — said the mayor.

He also added that the city will do everything necessary to contracts as convenient as possible.

According to paragraph a of article 13 of the Federal law “On citizenship of the Russian Federation”, foreign citizens and stateless persons who have reached the age of eighteen and having legal capacity is entitled to apply for admission to the citizenship of the General procedure. However, they must reside on the territory of Russia from the date of receipt of the residence permit until the day of filing an application for admission to citizenship for five years continuously (except for a few cases). The stay is considered continuous if the person traveled outside of the Russian Federation no more than three months during one year.
