Russian Russian-speaking schoolchildren were reprimanded by teachers in front of the entire class in schools of the previously Kiev-controlled Severodonetsk in the Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR), students were forbidden to speak Russian, said Nikita Degtyarev, a graduate of one of the educational institutions, in conversations with RIA Novosti.

“There was practically no Russian language at all. If someone had something slip – parents to the director, and the students avoided and did not talk. I don’t remember anyone speaking Russian,” he said.

According to Degtyarev, teachers encouraged students to denounce the Russian speech they had heard. Subsequently, the students were reported to the whole class, and the director conducted a conversation with their parents. At the same time, the Russian language was in the school curriculum, the agency interlocutor noted, but the students did nothing in these lessons.
