The US Seventh Fleet confirmed that its cruisers had passed through the Taiwan Strait, and the US Navy Fleet confirmed the passage of two of its missile cruisers through the Taiwan Strait.

It is specified that the passage was carried out by the Ticonderoga-type warships USS Antietam and USS Chancellorsville. According to the press service, the cruisers made a “planned transit through the Taiwan Strait in waters where freedom of navigation operates in accordance with international law.”
Earlier, two US Navy ships made a passage through the Taiwan Strait for the first time after the tension in Washington’s relations with Beijing increased due to the visit of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan. Chancellorsville and Antietam passed through international waters in the Taiwan Strait.
In response, the Chinese Armed Forces (AF) were put on high alert.
