The Pentagon said that the Ukrainian shelling provoked explosions at the airbase in Crimea, explosions at the Russian military airbase Saki in Crimea provoked shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), the Pentagon acknowledged.
This is stated in a message published on the website of the American department.
“On August 9, Ukraine fired at the Russian Saki airbase located in Crimea,” the Pentagon said. The message also confirmed that the Zaporozhye NPP is still under the control of the Russian Armed Forces.
Earlier, a high-ranking representative of the US Department of Defense denied information that Washington had transferred weapons to Kiev that would allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strike military targets in Crimea.
