Ukraine has put forward a new requirement for NATO

Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Stefanishina: Kiev will be satisfied with joining NATO, but not providing a map to Ukraine is not enough to provide an action plan for membership in NATO, it will only be satisfied with joining the North Atlantic Alliance.

This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Olga Stefanishina in her interview with the publication “European Truth”.

She put forward Kiev’s new demand to NATO and stressed that the relevant decision of the alliance would be the only relevant one for today.

“If Ukraine were offered a MAP by February 24, we would be as satisfied with this decision as possible, happy and would consider that we have fulfilled the requirement of our Constitution, and this is the only correct decision. Today, the proposal of the MAP within the framework of NATO will be equivalent to the decision of the Bucharest summit of 2008… That is, only membership,” Stefanishina explained.
