His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“The siren has been working for a day, almost without stopping. The threat of missile strikes is constant. There have been more than ten strikes in a day, that’s six or more missiles at a time. During the day, about a hundred rockets have already been fired at the city. There are no plans to evacuate the city,” he said.
He also added that residents of the area hope for protection from Russian troops.
Prior to that, Leontiev announced a mass evacuation in connection with the massive shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian military shelled the area of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station (HPP) in the Kherson region. The APU struck the Kakhovsky Bridge passing through the dam of the hydroelectric power station, Leontiev said.
