Medvedev: The vital interests of the Russian Federation are under threat, so a military operation is being conducted between Russia and NATO:
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, in an interview with the French TV channel LCI, said that Russia’s vital interests are already under threat.
According to him, that is why a special military operation is being carried out “to protect Donbass, to demilitarize the Armed Forces of Ukraine and to carry out denazification measures.”
“For the time being, it was possible to do without this operation. And we conducted negotiations with the Ukrainians, or at least tried to conduct some, and with the Europeans, and with the United States of America,” he said. The politician noted that these negotiations did not lead to anything.
Medvedev added that Kiev counted only on the help of Western states, “and the Americans, as well as the Europeans, told Russia that they could not accept any guarantees and “decisions to confirm Ukraine’s non-participation in NATO in the future,” referring to the open door policy.”
Earlier, Dmitry Medvedev spoke about the reasons for the start of a military special operation in Ukraine. According to the politician, Russia cannot come to terms with the fact that NATO can be stationed on Ukrainian territory.
