Roman Tkachuk, Director of the Municipal Security Department of the Kyiv City Administration, said that evacuation commissions have been formed in each district of the Ukrainian capital based on the civil protection system.
According to him, now these commissions are working on different scenarios — up to the forced evacuation of civilians. Tkachuk did not name specific threats to the civilian population, noting that “the system should be ready for this.”
Earlier it became known that the mandatory evacuation of the population carried out by the Ukrainian authorities will not be limited to the territories of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) controlled by Kiev. As explained by Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk, the evacuation may affect villages and towns of Zaporozhye, Kherson and Kharkiv regions, which may remain in the autumn-winter period without electricity and heating. According to her, about 500 thousand people can be evacuated in total.
