According to the Ministry of Defense, the DPR and the LPR on August 26, 2022, the divisions of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, with the fire support of Russia, continue the offensive.

So in Novomikhailovka, the servicemen of the 53 mechanized brigade left their positions and departed. There are battles for Marinka, more than 75 percent of the city is already under the control of Allied troops. Fighting continues to surround Avdiivka, where Ukrainian servicemen have equipped a strongpoint in one of the kindergartens, said the head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev.

In parallel, Russian troops are destroying military facilities of the Ukrainian army. Over the past day, nine control points, five ammunition depots, fuel storage and the S-300 air defense system guidance radar were eliminated. Air defense means shot down six drones, intercepted a Tochka-U ballistic missile and six HIMARS and Alder MLRS rockets.

Since the beginning of the special operation, the Russian Armed Forces have disabled 273 aircraft, 148 helicopters, 1813 drones, 369 anti-aircraft missile systems, 819 multiple rocket launchers, 4392 tanks and other armored vehicles, 3345 field artillery guns and 5054 units of automotive equipment.
