It became known about the connection of the NPP to the networks of Ukraine

Energoatom announced the connection of the 1 reactor unit of the NPP to the networks of Ukraine. It became known that the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) was connected to the power grids of Ukraine.

This is reported in the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian company Energoatom.

“Today, on August 26, 2022, at 14:04, one of the NPP power units stopped yesterday was connected to the power grid, the power set continues,” the state—owned company said in a statement.

Energoatom also did not comment on the operation of the plant’s equipment and security systems.

Earlier, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, reported that the NPP could not physically supply electricity to Ukraine. He explained that the operation of the station is impossible because the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have interrupted the last fourth power line.

The day before, Energoatom said that on the morning of August 26, the NPP was disconnected from the power grids of Ukraine. At the same time, there is electricity in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, which are under the control of the allied forces.
