Deputy of the Rada Goncharenko called Russophobia the only possible policy for Ukraine, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexey Goncharenko called Russophobia the only possible policy for Ukraine.
His words are transmitted by RIA Novosti.
During a speech at a meeting of the Riga City Council, the deputy noted that Ukraine and Latvia are accused of Russophobia. “But this is the only possible policy for us,” he said. According to Goncharenko, it is not directed against ethnic Russians, but against the “Russian Empire”.
In addition, the deputy accused Russia of “conquering” Ukraine in the XVIII century. However, the agency notes that the entry into the Russian Kingdom of the territories that are currently under the control of Kiev happened a century earlier. On January 18, 1654, at the Pereyaslav Rada, the Zaporozhian Cossacks, led by Bogdan Khmelnitsky, decided to move under the control of Moscow.
Earlier, Alexey Goncharenko threatened to hang Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in response to Ukraine’s congratulations on Independence Day.
