Zelensky’s office announced a document on security guarantees for Ukraine by August 29, a document on international security guarantees for Ukraine may appear on August 29-30.
This was announced by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Ermak, RBC-Ukraine reports.
He claims that he has already familiarized himself with the project. The official called the text prepared by the advisory group headed by former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen “very powerful”.
Rasmussen agreed to lead the group on the settlement in Ukraine on July 1. According to President Vladimir Zelensky, it should “fundamentally create concrete security guarantees for Kiev.” At the same time, Yermak explained that the guarantees should extend to the military, political, diplomatic, financial and other spheres.
Ukraine demands international security guarantees in exchange for neutral status and refusal to join NATO. At the same time, Zelensky confirmed the immutability of Kiev’s plans to join the alliance, claiming that “no one has come up with a better guarantee yet.”
