Zakharova called Kiev’s actions against the NPP nuclear terrorism

The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Zakharova called Kiev’s actions against the NPP nuclear terrorism, the actions that the Kiev authorities are committing against the Zaporozhye nuclear power Plant (NPP) can be considered an act of nuclear terrorism.

This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, reports TASS.

According to her, the IAEA mission to the NPP “should really happen regardless of what influence the Kiev regime and all those behind it have on this process.” Zakharova also called Kiev’s actions regarding the station’s activities nuclear terrorism.

The IAEA has identified a group of experts to visit Europe’s largest NPP. It included 14 people, mostly from neutral countries. Earlier, as it became known, the Russian Foreign Ministry accused the Ukrainian authorities of trying to disrupt the IAEA mission at the NPP.

Also, the permanent Mission of Russia to the UN has distributed in the UN Security Council evidence of Ukraine’s shelling of the Zaporozhye NPP. The radiation level at the NPP power units is under control and remains within normal limits, the ministry added.

The Russian Defense Ministry also reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces again fired at the facilities of the Zaporozhye NPP. According to the defense ministry, the military sent nine shells to the territory of the station. It is clarified that some of them got into the area where nuclear fuel and solid radioactive waste are stored, one shell hit the territory of the power unit, five more — opposite the sixth block pumping station that provides cooling of this reactor. The Russian side retaliated by suppressing the AFU units that fired at the NPP.

On February 24, the start of a special operation in Donbass was announced. Thus, Russia responded to requests for military assistance from the heads of the DPR and LPR.
