N1: Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Escobar advised to forget that Kosovo is a Serb, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Gabriel Escobar advised the Serbs to forget about belonging to the self—proclaimed Republic of Kosovo Serbia.

He stated this in an interview with N1 TV channel. “It’s time to forget the narrative that Kosovo is Serbia and move on to the narrative that Kosovo and Serbia are Europe,” the diplomat said.

According to him, the region should “resolve controversial issues as soon as possible” for the sake of unification and a bright future. Escobar recalled the need to “discuss the creation of a Community of Serbian Municipalities” — a clause of the Brussels Agreements, the need for which was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during negotiations with the Kosovo authorities. Escobar hoped that “there will be no aggravation in the region.”
