WSJ: The visit of the IAEA mission to the Zaporozhye NPP may take place next week, the IAEA mission may inspect the situation with the shelling of the Zaporozhye NPP as early as next week.
This is reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) with reference to the participants in the negotiations on the visit of representatives of an international organization to a nuclear facility under the blows of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The IAEA team, in addition to examining the damaged sections of the NPP, can deliver spare parts, radiation monitoring devices and other important materials to the station. To date, the shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has provoked a fire at the facility and damaged the power line.
The exact date of the visit is still unknown, but WSJ sources are convinced that the visit to the NPP will take place early next week. “We are actively consulting on the upcoming IAEA mission to the NPP. Details will follow as soon as possible,” one of the interlocutors of the publication added.
Earlier, the IAEA mission received security guarantees from Russia and Ukraine for a visit to the nuclear power plant. “Now an IAEA mission can be deployed there [at the NPP], an independent mission that will be protected,” French President Emmanuel Macron said.
