The Russian ambassador to Belgrade, Botan-Kharchenko, said that the conflict between Serbia and Kosovo is beneficial to the United States. A new round of conflict between Serbia and the unrecognized Republic of Kosovo may be beneficial to the United States for spreading influence in the region and weakening Belgrade in order to force it to adopt an anti-Russian course.
This was stated by the Ambassador of the Russian Foreign Ministry to the Republic of Serbia Alexander Botan-Kharchenko on the air of the TV channel “Russia 24”.
“We understand that [the Europeans] are not independent, they are already doing what they are told. The new conflict may well serve the Americans so that Serbia is even weaker, so that it joins the sanctions, and, probably, thinking that the Russian Federation will help Serbia in any case, it may also be an unbearable burden for her,” the ambassador said.
According to the diplomat, if Serbia needs Russia’s help, Moscow will be able to overcome “any burden, especially when it comes to protecting friends, brothers, friendly countries.”
Earlier, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Europe is threatened by a cataclysm and a power outage due to the energy crisis around the world. “We are fighting [the crisis] every day, and I will tell you that the largest countries in Europe will face power outages. (…) In Vienna, as far as I understand, business has been stopped since December-January, because electricity bills have increased fourfold. There will be a cataclysm,” the head of state predicted.
