Syrian President Assad wished Putin victory in Ukraine “for the good of all mankind”

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad wished his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin victory in a special military operation in Ukraine. His greeting was conveyed by Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad in a conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, TASS reports.

The Syrian minister conveyed to the Russian head of state the wishes of health, as well as that he “be accompanied by victory in the military operation that is being carried out in Ukraine for the benefit of all mankind.” He also discussed with Lavrov the claims of Western countries to world hegemony.

“Today we stand side by side with the Russian Federation in its just and necessary struggle against the forces of neo-Nazism, because it threatens all of humanity,” Mikdad said.

Earlier it was reported that at the end of July, the merchant ship Sparta II arrived in Russia from Syria, probably transporting military equipment through the Turkish Bosphorus Strait. The US government indicated that Washington proceeds from the fact that Russia uses merchant ships to transport military cargo across the Black Sea.
