The Russian airline will return two Boeing 737s abroad

The government has allowed S7 Airlines to return two Boeing 737-8 aircraft to Turkey. The Russian S7 airline has received permission to export two Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft abroad.

This is stated in the order of the government.

According to the document, the Cabinet of Ministers allows Globus LLC, a subsidiary of S7, to return goods to Turkey by December 31, 2022 according to the list according to the annex, which refers to two Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft. There is no permission to operate these aircraft in Russia.

The Cabinet of Ministers instructed the Federal Customs Service (FCS) to ensure control over the return of two Boeing 737-8 MAX to Turkey.

The fact that S7 asked the Ministry of Transport for permission to return the aircraft to foreign owners “due to the lack of a type certificate in Russia and, accordingly, the impossibility of its operation,” it was reported earlier. The operation of this aircraft model was banned in Russia due to the disasters that occurred in Indonesia and Ethiopia with their participation, but re-certification was never carried out.
