Poland was dissatisfied with the German proposal for the supply of tanks

Defense Minister Blaszczak: Poland wants 44 Leopard tanks instead of the T-72 sent to Kiev, Warsaw is not satisfied with Berlin’s proposal to compensate tanks instead of those sent to Ukraine.

This was stated by Polish Defense Minister Marius Blaszczak in an interview with the Polska Times newspaper.

According to him, the German authorities offered Poland 20 Leopard instead of the T-72 sent by the republic to Ukraine. In addition, the first copies of German tanks should arrive only in 2023. “This does not meet our expectations and does not give much. This is a completely symbolic offer,” Blaszczak said.

The head of the Polish department stressed that Warsaw is counting on “at least a battalion of tanks, that is, 44 vehicles in the Western European format.” Otherwise, Blaszczak noted, Poland can do without this support.

Earlier, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak signed an agreement to purchase K2 Black Panther tanks and K9 self-propelled artillery units from South Korea.
