“Several explosions were heard around five o’clock this morning. The hotel where Yulia [Baranovskaya] slept, Park Inn, is a hotel where all Moscow guests stay, the quietest part of Donetsk, came under fire. Everyone was lowered into the shelter in the basement, they sat there for about an hour, to be precise, 45 minutes,” the director of Baranovskaya shared details of the incident.
Due to the shelling, craters formed 10-20 meters from the hotel, power lines were cut off, and a tree also caught fire, Sheksheev said.
The fact that Baranovskaya came under fire became known on August 27. The journalist worked in the DPR on the project “Women of Donbass”, which tells 30 stories of women whose lives have changed over the past 8.5 years.
