Angola assessed the EU’s plans to replace Russian gas with African gas

Angolan Ambassador da Silva Cunha said that the price for African gas will be higher than the Russian plans of the European Union (EU) to replace Russian gas with African gas can seriously affect the European economy.

It is currently unclear when the project can be implemented, and the cost of such gas will be higher. This assessment was given by the Angolan Ambassador to Russia, Augusto da Silva Cunha, RIA Novosti reports.

In addition, answering a question about how Angola treats the position of Brussels, which wants to work more with African countries to replace gas from Russia, the diplomat replied that EU countries are “free and free” to negotiate with those who want to sell gas.

The Ambassador noted that at the moment it is not known how long it will take until the gas pipeline project through the Iberian Peninsula moves from paper to the implementation plane, and what will be the situation in the European Union.
