The Russian Foreign Ministry announced the suspension of the issuance of biometric passports abroad. Russian embassies in Azerbaijan, Germany, Latvia, Turkey, Sweden, Estonia have temporarily suspended the issuance of biometric passports with electronic media.

As stated in the message, the acceptance of applications for the issuance of passports containing electronic media (valid for ten years) is suspended from August 26 for technical reasons. At the same time, the registration of passports valid for five years will continue unchanged.
