Consumer confidence in the German economy has updated the anti-record

The index of consumer confidence in the German economy as of September fell to minus 36.5 paragraph from a revised August minus 30.9 points, according to research company GfK.

Analysts polled by DailyFХ portal, waiting for the rate at minus 31.8 points. August’s figure was revised to minus 30.9 from minus 30.6 points.

Thus, the index reached a new record, as noted in the release.

The index of expectations of wage growth in August edged up to minus of 45.3 points from a record low of minus 45.7 points in July, and “the willingness of consumers to buy” was reduced to a minimum since 2008 – minus 15.7 vs minus 14.5 para a month earlier.

The company also reported that the index of current economic expectations in the country rose to minus 17.6 from minus 18.2 para a month earlier.

“Fear greatly increase the cost of energy in the coming months, forcing many households to take precautions and save money on future energy bills. This further weakens consumer sentiment,” the expert commented on the GfK consumer sentiment Burcl Rolf (Rolf Burkl).
